Not so funny anymore.
This picture I took 2 days ago during her "nap time". I went in to check on her and this is what I found...
She had taken off her diaper, wiped herself and put new clothes on.
No, that is not mud on the floor. Next to her are the contents from her dresser drawer as she was trying to find the perfect outfit. She has no diaper on under her TWO skirts.
This is my first experience with cleaning this stuff off the floor because Max would have gagged himself if he ever did this.
I always hoped this chapter of motherhood would never happen to me.
Lets look at the bright side:
1. She matched her clothes!
2. She put her dirty diaper in the garbage and I later saw that she actually kept a majority of the poop in that diaper. (I am quick to admit that this experience could have been a whole lot worse.)
3. Spot Shot really works!
4. I am thankful we don't have a dog.
On the other hand:
1. No more granola for Allie for breakfast.
2. I still can't find the pants she was wearing before the incident.
3. When she is quiet, I am panicking.
I should have seen this coming! She had given me all of the warnings that a 23 month old can!
(I wanted to say that the writing was on the wall but I didn't want to jinx myself!)
Now for the rest of my "crappy" week...
1. Max had his first Number 2 accident.
2. The other day after Alex left for work, Allie and I were cuddling on the couch and I left to use the restroom. While I was in the bathroom, Allie stayed on the couch and I could hear her chanting. "Poop it out! Poop it out!" This is the chant I sing for her during her feeble attempts to use the bathroom. Then when I flushed she cheered, "Yay! Mommy!" I would have never guessed that I would have my own cheerleading squad.
So, we definitely had a theme at our house this week. Hope yours was a little better!
PS I have resorted to taping up her diaper because she has continued this lovely habbit. Any suggestions?

Duct tape is very handy in these situations, it's just a phase and it will pass. I hate poop!
Lol. This really made me smile and laugh!!! I have no suggestions as I haven't reached this yet. Aidan has tried undoing the one side of his diaper but then just holds it and doesn't know how he'll get the other side off while holding one side up. Good luck, and thanks for the chuckle!
I was sorry to hear of your travail and am truly amazed at your analyzing of the situation. In raising six boy I never encountered such a problem but it would seem that such behavior would lead to an early potty training. I too got a chuckle out of your handling of the situation.
Seriously, bless your heart! I think I would have cried to find that... and smeared into the carpet?!! Eeewww. I think that I would be panicky for a long time that I could still smell it and wondering where I missed. Luckilly, Oakley is more like Max and hates poop.
Aw, Amy--that is not fun at all. We've been lucky up until now, although I do worry that I'm going to come in to that sight one of these days. What is it with baby #2 and their #2?
It seemed like Emma was in this stage forever. Putting the diaper on backwards worked for awhile until she figured out how to take the diaper off. Then we resorted to duct tape. It works. Really, I thought she would never stop. I hoped that she would potty train early because of signs like this one but she is still in diapers and doesn't seem to want to progress. I hope you have better luck!
Hang in there little camper!!! The joys of parenting. I can't believe how big your kids are getting.
John and I are dreading the day that the twins learn how to take off their diapers. It's good that you had such an awesome outlook on it. I would have been screaming at the top of my lungs. And I would probably leave the mess for John to clean up (he used to be a custodian, so he knows how to handle this stuff).
Oh I'm so sorry you had a literally crappy week! I dread the day - because Noah is like Max and has been easy! But I love your list of bright sides - especially the fact that Allie matched her clothes! I can't beleive she's old enough to do that.
Yup, these are "the days of our lives" When I brought lilly home for the 1st time Walker would take off his diapers and smear them all over. It was like one os those huge, overwhelming school projects where you ask yourself,"where do i start?" You a GREAT mom. I just tell myself it has to get better.LOL But that doesn't mean I didn't laugh at that picture:)
That's too funny!
That is the worst... nothing makes me more crazy than when they poop or pee in their pants!!! Good luck with that one!
Oh man, that stuff is just too funny when it happens to other people:) I had one poop accident but it was a "hard" one so it was easy to clean up. Luke is potty training this week...we'll see how it goes..so far only one little accident...I think he needed to know what it felt like running down his leg, and hopefully got it out of his system.:)
That is hillarious! I love this post! That reminds me of Grant...except Grant wouldn't try to clean himself up...he would actually use it to paint...it was GROSS! Needless to say..that boy was potty trained fast. YUCKY! :) My hint for future is rent a Rug Doctor they are great for cleaning floors! :)
Poop is a miserable part of life... no way around it. Hey, at least she didn't eat it!
So Adorable Amy...
You're such a great Mom. Ali is so cute I can't believe her adorable hair. Tell little Max Hello, he may have forgotten us already.
Talk to you soon.
